FPL GW30: Data Scout XI Results

Back to form again with 69 points! Higher than the game week average and – again – FPL’s ‘The Scout’. The midfield returned to their attacking best!
GK Points: 2. A glaring error from Neto gifted Everton a late, late goal in the 87th minute. Until then he was on course for a clean sheet and seven points but Beto’s fortunate equaliser for Everton took those points away.
DEF Points: 7. Robinson failed to make an impact in attack for Fulham in their crazy 3-3 draw away to Sheffield, and Zarbarnyi – like Neto – was only a few minutes away from a clean sheet and bonus points before Everton’s last equaliser. Unlucky. Bradley garnered a couple of bonus points in his 2-1 win over Brighton.
MID Points: 50. The midfield returned back to form! Son managed to score the winning goal against Luton late on in the 86th minute, bringing him in three bonus points too. Salah also scored the winning goaled in their match versus Brighton, and Palmer scored twice in a frustrating 2-2 draw for Chelsea against Burnley. Gordon managed a feat not many have done before.. he was sent off but left the field with eight points thanks to a hattrick of assists. The midfield was almost perfect this week with Douglas Luiz being the only player failing to return. However it could have been different, as he did have a goal ruled out for offside.
FWD Points: 10. Our Mateta pick paid off! As predicted, he scored and brought home nine points! Unlike everyone’s favourite striker this year, Watkins, who came off injured.
Very pleased with this weeks score however it could have been even better if it wasn’t for Everton!

The international break is over, which means FPL returns! This game week we have created a team with a bit of risk. Saka and Foden will likely be in many sides this weekend, but we have replaced them with two potential high scorers.

GK – Neto, Bournemouth
Bournemouth are hosting an Everton side who have only scored one goal in their last five away fixtures. Goalkeepers against Everton have averaged 5.5 points a game, leaving Neto to be our top pick for this game week. Potential clean sheet.
DEF – Robinson, Fulham
Fulham are travelling to Sheffield who are ranked bottom for goals per game at home (0.9). With a potential clean sheet, Robinson can also provide a threat in attack having assisted three goals since GW23. Defenders against Sheffield have also averaged 4.1 points a game. A no brainer for us.
DEF – Bradley, Liverpool
In the absence of Alexander-Arnold, Connor Bradley has been good filling in at right-back for him. Since coming into the side in GW21 he has averaged 7.2 points a game, and picked up three assists and a goal. While he has no returns in his last four matches, he is still a decent option.
DEF – Zabarnyi, Bournemouth
As discussed in Neto’s piece, Everton’s bluntness in attack could lead to a Bournemouth clean sheet. Although we have suggested similar recently and subsequently proved wrong when Sheffield came to visit the Vitality Stadium. Potential clean sheet on the cards as defenders have averaged 4.1 points against the Blades this season.
MID – Salah, Liverpool (c)
Captain Salah returns to our squad after seemingly returning to some form of fitness. In his first appearance since his injury at AFCON, he came off the bench to score and assist against Brentford. Unfortunately, his fitness proved not to be ready yet as he missed the next two following matches. But he seems to be back in the starting line-up again, having played seventy-seven minutes in Liverpool’s defeat to Manchester United in the FA Cup. Salah has averaged more points at home than any other player (8.6) and has had 1.2 goals + assists per game this season.
MID – Douglas Luiz, Aston Villa
Douglas Luiz, as always whenever he plays at home, lines up in our starting XI. At home he has averaged the 2nd most points for any midfielder, behind Salah, with 7.1 points per game. Douglas Luiz consistantly collected points from set pieces this season.
MID – Gordon, Newcastle
Like Douglas Luiz, Gordon makes our XI whenever he plays at home. He is third in the table for points per game at home behind Douglas Luiz and Salah with 6.9. He has scored or assisted in each of his last four home matches.
MID – Palmer, Chelsea
Chelsea are hosting Burnley, a side which Midfielders have averaged 4.3 points against this season. Palmer has had a brilliant season too, averaging 6.2 points a game, and is becoming the heart beat of Chelsea’s attack.
MID – Son, Tottenham
Spurs have been brilliant at scoring goals this season, having only failed to score once – in their last match vs Fulham. Son has been better than he was last season, averaging 6.0 points per game, collecting 1.0 goals + assists per match. Son has been involved in 37% of Spurs’ goals in the league this season.
FWD – Watkins, Aston Villa
Currently the 3rd most own player on FPL this season, Watkins starts up front for our team. Watkins tops the table for most goals and assists combined this season with thirty-one. At home he has averaged 6.1 points per game and he is facing a Wolves side which forwards have averaged 4.1 points against.
FWD – Mateta, Crystal Palace
A complete wildcard choice from us here, but there is logic to the madness. He has quietly been in good form for FPL sides, scoring and assisting four times since GW23. He has average 4.8 points per game in his last six matches. He is facing a Nottingham Forest side which forwards have averaged 4.5 points against. If Palace score a goal, Mateta might be involved.
Subs: Leno (GK, Fulham), Werner (FWD, Tottenham), Gusto (DEF, Chelsea), Bassey (DEF, Fulham).
