FPL GW33: Data Scout XI Results
For the first time since starting, we were outscored by The Scout in a frustrating weekend.

GK Points: 1. Arsenal were visibly tired and outplayed at home against a very tactically sound Aston Villa side in a game of two halves. Villa came out on top late in the game scoring twice to seal a two-nil win, leaving Raya’s clean sheet off our page.
DEF Points: 16. As mentioned, Aston Villa’s two-nil win versus Arsenal took away any clean sheet bonuses for Gabriel this game week, unlike Brentfords’ Reguilon who collected 8 points after their two-nil win against Sheffield United. Liverpool’s Virgil was involved in their shock home loss to Crystal Palace and Gusto came off our bench to replace Toney (who did not feature) adding six points to our tally thanks to a clean sheet and drumming of Everton.
MID Points: 9. As we have discovered this season, when our midfield fails to perform, our total points suffer. Although it could have been lower in total this week. Gross, Mbeumo, Havertz and Luiz Diaz all failed to make an impact in their respective matches.
FWD Points: 32. We have been patted on the back for selecting Haaland as our captain this week as he faced Luton, where he scored and assisted in a 5-1 thrashing. Isak also performed again at home for Newcastle, where he dismantled Tottenham’s backline time and time again.
A strange game week in the end, but one we wished to have performed better in. Usual suspects such as Palmer and Gordon shone this weekend, who are usuals in our side but weren’t selected.
You can view the original article below:
GK – Raya, Arsenal
Raya remains the strongest pick for goalkeepers at the moment. On average, Arsenal have conceded 0.9 goals per home match this season with Raya only facing 1.6 shots on goal in his last ten matches, conceding three goals in that period. He is also top of the table for the least goals conceded per 90 (0.76).
DEF – Gabriel, Arsenal
Gabriel is Arsenal’s main attacking threat in their set piece routines. He has had more shots than any other Arsenal defender this season, averaging 1.0 shots per game. They are due a set piece goal.
DEF – Reguilon, Brentford
Brentford have a chance to pick up their first win in the Premier League in nine matches as they face Sheffield United this weekend. Reguilon, since joining, has been a great attacking threat for Brentford on their left hand side. He picked up two assists in their last match against Aston Villa, we’re hopeful of a possible clean sheet or assist.
DEF – Virgil, Liverpool
Liverpool need to bounce back from their strange draw against Manchester United, and they have a good opportunity to as they face Crystal Palace at home. Virgil is in our side with potential for a clean sheet against a side who have scored 0.9 goals away from home all season.
MID – Gross, Brighton
Midfielders versus Burnley have averaged 4.1 points, and while Gross has taken a slight dip in attacking returns recently he does sit in our XI. So far this season Gross has fifteen goals and assists in twenty-seven starts.
MID – Mbeumo, Brentford
Mbeumo scored in his last match against Aston Villa in his first match playing over sixty minutes since his return from injury. When he has played he has averaged 5.1 points this season. Midfielders against Sheffield United have averaged 4.3 points per game, and forwards have averaged 4.3 points. Mbeumo is in the midfielders category on fantasy football, but for Brentford he has been playing up front in a 3-5-2 formation.
MID – Havertz, Arsenal
As predicted, Havertz performed well again against Brighton, picking up a goal and an assist. He has more goals and assists than any other Arsenal playing in the last ten matches. He has more goal creating actions per 90 than any Arsenal player this season (min. 900 minutes) with 0.71.
MID – Luis Diaz, Liverpool
In Liverpool’s last five home matches, Diaz has picked up four goals and assists. He is in great form, and just nudges infront of Salah in our team this week.
FWD – Haaland (c), Manchester City
Despite being the league’s top goal scorer, Haaland has only scored five goals since the start of December. A slight tactical shift from Pep this season has seen Haaland become less mobile and only active during crosses against low blocks or running in behind against a high line. Man. City are hosting Luton Town this weekend who will very likely play in a low block, and if Kevin De Bruyne plays we could see Haaland getting on the end of some decent balls into the box. Last time City played Luton was in the FA Cup where Haaland scored five goals from seven shots, with four of those five being assisted by KDB. Strangely considered a risk, but he is our captain this weekend.
FWD – Isak, Newcastle United
Isak has five goals and assists in his last three home matches for Newcastle. His next home fixture is against Tottenham, which forwards have averaged 4.0 points against. Tottenham have only kept two clean sheets in their last twenty league matches, providing hope for Isak to pick up at least a goal.
FWD – Toney, Brentford
Toney is a slight selection risk this weekend due to the fact he did not start their last match against Aston Villa. He is currently in a goal drought having not scored in eight matches, but if selected he could snatch a goal. Forwards against Sheffield have averaged 4.3 points per game. It’s a toss-up between him and Wissa, but we’re going safe.
Subs: Fabianski (GK, West Ham), Ajer (DEF, Brentford), Rodri (MID, Man. City), Gusto (DEF, Chelsea).
