FPL DGW37: Data Scout XI Results
We scored over 100 points again, but beaten by the FPL scout’s 114 points…

GK Points: 5. Another clean sheet for the leagues golden glove winner, David Raya. A professional performance from the Gunners away at Manchester United led to points returns for the defence.
DEF Points: 40. Our two single game week defenders kept clean sheets, as predicted. Gabriel and Branthwaite brought in a total of 13 points. Gvardiol exceeded expections this double gameweek. We expected him to well due to his form, but not score two goals and two clean sheets.
MID Points: 39. Saka was a gamble which didn’t pay off, Havertz or Trossard were our other options and they both scored points thanks to their work for the only goal in the game. Gordon failed to score points in his home match which is unlike him, however he did provide in the away fixture against Manchester United. De Bruyne kept up his terrific away form, scoring twelve points from two assists. Palmer was on the scoresheet once again against Brighton, as well as assisting against Forest. Gallagher came into our team as a replacement for Wilson who did not feature in either matches for Newcastle. He scored a disappointing three points.
FWD Points: 23. Our captain failed to score this game week, but he did have the chances. He missed a one on one against United’s Onana, and Newcastle did have a penalty shout not given. These two incidents could have matched his points with Haaland’s who scored twice against Spurs’ to give City one hand on the Premier League trophy.
We went for a differential captaincy, and it didn’t pay off. From our captaincy options table in the original article, we chose the only player who didn’t return any goals or assists. Oh well, onto the final week..

This weekend we’re shaping up in a 3-4-3 formation, with our captaincy focusing on Isak’s great form.

GK – Raya, Arsenal
Raya has officially won the golden glove this season, with two games to play. Arsenal have been brilliant at keeping clean sheets away from home this season, conceding just 0.7 goals per away game.
DEF – Gvardiol, Man City
Gvardiol has been hoovering up the points in recent weeks, scoring fifty points in his last seven matches (7.1 average). He has four goals and assists in his last four matches.
DEF – Gabriel, Arsenal
Manchester United are second in the table for shots conceded from dead ball situations with 3.0 per game. The only side worse than them is the relegated Sheffield United. Arsenal have been superb at having shots on goal from dead ball situations this season with 2.1 per game. As well as looking for another clean sheet away from home, Gabriel could get on the scoresheet from a corner or free kick where he appears to be the main target alongside Havertz.
DEF – Branthwaite, Everton
Branthwaite has picked up decent form for fantasy players recently, averaging six points in his last six matches. This week he plays against Sheffield, which defenders have averaged more points against than any other team, 3.9.
MID – Saka, Arsenal
A single game for Saka this game week, but an important away fixture. This season he has averaged 6.8 points per away game, and is travelling away to a Manchester United side who have one of the worst defenses in the league. Most of the goals they have conceded this season have been from wingers and attacking midfield. Arsenal could have a field day.
MID – Gordon, Newcastle
As always, if there is a home fixture, Gordon starts in our midfield. This guy has scored a minimum of five points in 82% of his home matches this season. His away form isn’t close to being as good, however his away fixture this round is against Manchester United. Gordon might enjoy the space left behind the United midfield.
MID – De Bruyne, Man City
De Bruyne is currently loving his away fixtures, averaging 7.8 points per away game. Stark constrast to his home form (3.1). Good news, both of his matches this game week are away! He has scored and assisted eight times in his last five away starts, a worthy shout for captaincy. KDB has scored a minimum of five points in 75% of his away matches this season.
MID – Palmer, Chelsea
No suprise that Palmer is in here, however he isn’t our captain this week. He has returned less in recent weeks with other players on the team picking up form. Their next two fixtures are harder than people may be giving credit for, away to Brighton and Forest.
FWD – Isak (c), Newcastle
Newcastle have been goal happy at home this season, and Isak has been just the same. Out of his twenty goals in the league, fourteen have been at home. They are hosting a Brighton side which forwards have averaged 5.5 points at home against. In their second fixture, they travel away to Manchester United who are a defensive shambles at the moment. Isak will likely have a good time against a United side who are conceding 5.4 shots on target per game in their last five home matches (in comparison, the league’s best defence – Arsenal – have allowed an average of 2.0 shots on target in their last five home matches).
FWD – Wilson, Newcastle
Our differential pick. Selected by 2.9% of fantasy players, Wilson joins us for this double game week. It feels like he has been injured all season, but Wilson scored nine goals and assisted once in the league this season. He has 0.91 goals + assists per 90, which is significantly higher than Chelsea’s Jackson who has 0.64 goals + assists per 90 – who is the most popular pick this game week. We’re expecting him to be involved in both matches.
FWD – Haaland, Man City
Haaland was in terrific form against Wolves in his last outing, scoring four goals. This game week he travels away twice, Fulham and Tottenham. He has 0.8 goals and assists in his last five away matches, so we should see at least one attacking return over these two games.
Subs: Petrovic (GK, Chelsea), Gallagher (MID, Chelsea), Tarkowski (DEF, Everton), Dunk (DEF, Brighton).
