ARSENAL V ASTON VILLA
Starting with the most watchable fixture of this week, the Gunners are hosting in form Villa. This is the return fixture of the only match which Arsenal deserved to lose this season (2-1 away at Villa), but this one could be a different story. Villa are hot in form right now but are massively overperforming their XGD by +15.7 goals. Arsenal are where they’re meant to be, currently in line with their XGD.
I’m unsure of the full statistics here but as an Arsenal fan I can comfortably say that Emery’s Villa has been Arteta’s bogey team for a few seasons now. However, the hosts are also unbeaten at home this season, and will seek revenge for that recent defeat away. The line is a horrible one to select, but the value is there. This will feel like a Champions League match.
